This weekend, I didn't have a full schedule, but I did have a few things I'd planned to do. Saturday, I was going to be heading to the HorrorHound Weekend Convention in Cincinnati to do some shopping and watch a couple of independent flicks. Sunday, I was supposed to have lunch with a buddy from Columbus who would traveling through on his way to Lexington, KY for the week.
Well, Saturday morning, I cleaned house and headed to lunch, followed by the jaunt up into Cincinnati for the convention. I checked the website again to verify the times of the movies only to find a message that entry tickets for Saturday were "EXTREMELY LIMITED." The site was even suggesting that if people were driving from a long distance to come, they should reconsider. The Facebook commentary told me that they had already sold out, as people were begging for anyone who had extra tickets. It's my own fault, I should have pre-ordered, but they'd never sold out before. So I bailed on the idea. Luckily, a friend texted me later to see if I wanted to see "The Grand Budapest Hotel" at the local arthouse theater, followed by Thai food, so the evening was not a waste. The movie was quirky and fun and dinner was great, as I got to hang out with Brian (
cincycub) and other buddies.
The next morning, I got up and worked out and waited for my Columbus friend to call. And he never did. I am thinking the online message I sent him with my phone number arrived too late or that maybe he left on Saturday instead. So I spent the day doing the usual odds and ends.
Not a wasted weekend, but it certainly was different than planned.
Monday tomorrow.. ugh... but I need to get through the work so I can take a week off!
