March Question Month, Part Three
Mar. 20th, 2012 08:40 amThis question comes from
epinoid who asked:
What brings you joy? What engages you most?
It may sounds strange, but it goes along with a lot of other questions I've been asked, but I often am truly the happiest when I'm drawing for me. I tend to tune the world out when concentrating on something on the sketchpad, especially when whatever the end product is serves no purpose or has no pre-determined outcome. I just start drawing and wherever the idea goes, it goes. It's a chance to relax, to be creative, and probably to be myself.
Besides my solitary activities, I think I feel the happiest when I am with my brother and sister. I complain about them a lot and I am sure they do the same about me, but there are times that we are together that something spontaneous and synergistic occurs. It's almost like a comedy routine that has been practiced over and over again when we hit this laughing streak that we can't stop. The topic or story often changes, but in that instant, we forget each other's faults and deliver one-liners that would make the best comedian envious. It can't be planned, though it seems to happen often around the holdiays. The three of us laughing so hard that my sister pees a little is just indescribably fun.
Lastly, I'd say that there is nothing like an evening out with the guys here. Whether it's a movie or just grabbing dinner, it's a relaxing time and it makes me happy to catch up with them. I especially enjoy it when a large group of us can get together for a game night.

March is Question Month. If anyone else would like to ask a question, you can post it here. You can ask anonymously if you'd like, IP addresses are not recorded for the month. I'll be answering more questions this week :)
