Softball Losses with Good Playing
Jun. 15th, 2011 09:07 pmI had a softball game late last night. I saw who we were playing, a really good team with cute guys, and thought "well, it'll be a night of fielding practice for us..." I put on my best game face and went out on the field.
And it was mainly fielding practice for the most part, but my team actually played really well. I myself got a couple of really decent hits, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. When the expectation is that we aren't going to win anyway, the pressure is really off.
My favorite play of the night was by our new first baseman, a lady named Mary who recently had a baby. She is a very good player, but one of the throws to first fell a bit short, so she literally did the splits to catch the ball. One foot on the base, the other outstretched, and she caught the ball and the runner was out.
Everyone on both teams yelled in AMAZEMENT!!! I loved it and wished I had my camera ready!
We lost 13-3, but no one left there feeling bad. This is what softball is supposed to be like.
