Movies and Such
Aug. 23rd, 2010 08:10 amAfter work on Friday, I drove to the theaters to catch Piranha 3D. An earthquake opens up a subterranean lake containing pre-historic piranha hungry for scantly-clad, spring break bikini-clad drunken students. Lots of gyrating bodies, both above and below the water, nudity and gore. It's a short movie, only 89 minutes, with no extra scene at the end. Very campy, but not overboard. Loved it!
Saturday was an evening with the Cincinnati Movie Bears. We went to see Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Slacker-rocker Scott Pilgrim has a dream about a roller-skating girl who appears in his real world. When he starts to date her, he discovers that he must defeat her super-powered seven ex's, each of whom is out to get him. The movie is laced throughout with comic-book style notations and special effects. While I admit I'm not a big Michael Cera fan, I have to admit that he does a great job in the flick. Very fun and entertaining. No extra scene at the end.
On an unrelated note, I had a freaky dream last night that I accidentally shaved my chin fuzz off. I actually woke up and rubbed my chin to make sure the fur was still there. Whew!
