It was a pretty busy weekend here in the Greater 'Nati area with the visiting [livejournal.com profile] mikiedoggie and Boomer the Wonder Dog.
  • Friday night, dinner at Shanghai Mama's with Mikie, Derek ([livejournal.com profile] _decibel_) and Brian ([livejournal.com profile] cincycub). Good food, so bad for you :)

  • On Saturday, Derek, Mikie and I had lunch at Five Guys (*burger-gasm*), followed by a visit to the local home/garden show at the convention center. The show had some home, some garden and a lot of other. Not sure what the purses with the changeable magnetic exterior and the costume jewelry has to do with home improvement, but...

  • After the convention, we hit Graeter's for ice-cream, despite the cold and rainy weather, where we were waited on by a fiesty server named "Ebony."

  • Brian joined us there in time to head to the Cincinnati Contemporary Art Museum to see an exhibit of Shepard Fairey. While his stuff was pretty amazing, it was the exhibit of "Chewing Color" I found disturbing. Imaging a video of a woman licking up slime with her tongue and spitting it back out again only to repeat it being projected on a 50 foot wall. And the video was from the perspective of the bottome of the bowl or surface. Ewwww.

  • After a break, the four of us met up at a new restaurant called "The Senate," which is this tiny, very crowded, little hip place. My dinner was basically a tarted-up grilled ham/cheese sandwich, fries, and a half-pint of beer for $25. While the food was good, it was just enormously overpriced (Derek had a hot dog that was $9!).

  • Sunday, Derek, Mikie and I hit Price Hill Chili for breakfast/brunch/lunch, which is a great local place! Definitely have to try that one again. :)

  • Monday after springing forward.. ugh...
