Mid-Month Recap
Sep. 16th, 2008 08:08 amI've not been in much of a posting mood of late with the new position at work, the weather, the lack of electricity, etc. Things are finally looking up though. I'll probably be posting like crazy today. The flood gates have opened.
The work is going well here. I do like it, though it has been pretty exhausting. Trying to produce quality work while essentially learning how to do it has kept me on the edge of frazzled. I have gone home lately in a bit of a daze, brain-fried from absorbing how things are done and correcting errors I am naturally prone to making when learning new things. It's like paying perfect atttention for several hours straight. I've slept a lot the last few weeks to just give my mind a rest. Things are improving, they'll just take time. I am becoming used to being in a frazzled state.
After Sunday's wind storm, no power for over 24 hours. It was very "Little House on the Prairie" -- reading by candlelight, quickly eating perishable items from the fridge, sleeping in a non-air conditioned house, unbraiding my hair for brushing, etc. If only Mr. Edwards or Mr. Garvey were around. Luckily, my power came back on last night, but I know several folks in the area are still without and likely will be for the next few days.
Well, back to the fraz...
