Softball Double-Header

The good news is that I played in both games last night. The even better news is that we won them both. So far, we're undefeated the second session. My mood was much better last night, despite having gotten home after 11 PM. There were some familiar faces in the crowd with cincycub, masoncub, shimbexprovides (who can cause injuries to players by simply being present -- use your power for good not evil), and lougarou (who played last night as well).

No great plays for me, a couple of singles, a couple of runs, etc. One teammate commented that I can really run. I tell them they shouldn't make the fat kid run so much. The downside of late softball games though is that I am wiped out today....

1. I have a one-inch scar between my eyes from my very first baseball game. My cousin was practicing his swing as we were called to the dugout to start the game and he clocked me hard. After being covered in blood and being taken to the hospital screaming, I got stitches and found out we lost the game. I'm still freaked about being hit by a ball bat, which is not easy when you play catcher for the softball team (braces for jokes!).
   
2. I was the editorial cartoonist for my college newspaper for two years.
   
3. I considered getting my MLS and becoming a librarian after earning my bachelor's degree.
   
4. I can't cross my eyes.
   
5. Peach-flavored Nehi soda makes me gag.
   
6. I rarely get nervous on a first date. Not sure why.
   
7. I share my birthday with actor Robert Duvall, writer Umberto Eco, actress Diane Keaton, and scary Marilyn Manson. I never get birthday cards from any of them.
