Cincy Mens Chorus -- "This is Our Country"
Jun. 2nd, 2007 09:49 amWork has been a bear, and not in a good way, lately. I was working in town this past week, but by the time I would get home, I'd have a headache and just want to sleep. I haven't posted lately because there was nothing to post about but rants and bitching.
Last night was a bright spot. I got to see LJ's own
cincycub perform with the Cincinnati Mens Chorus in their "This is Our Country" concert at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati.
The show was wonderful. Our guy Brian performs several solo parts and you get to see him all tux'd up. The funny songs are my favorites, including "The Fundamental," a choreographed song about religion, and "The Letter Song," a break up over a boyfriend's bad grammar. It seems that Chorine Michael Hoffman gets a lot of the funny performances, he performed "The Letter Song." The acoustics in the place are great. It's almost like surround sound as for one moment I thought the lady next to me was singing along.
For local folks, there is a second performance tonight at 8:07 PM at the Freedom Center. Tickets are only $20 and it is well worth the price.
