Jake Gyllenhaal stars in Zodiac
I took the day off as the week started with a bang and petered out yesterday afternoon. Instead of starting something new, I decided to take advantage of one of the few sunny days we have had and burn some comp time. The next four weeks are going to be very busy for me.
After a grueling weightlifting and cardio session at the gym this morning and a hot soapy erotic shower, I decided to hit the movies as usual, checking out a matinee of Zodiac.
The movie recounts the serial killings in the San Francisco area in the late 1960's and early 1970's where the killer taunted police by sending letters to newspapers. The movie centers around the two detectives (played by Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Edwards), a crime reporter (Robert Downey, Jr.), and a curious newspaper cartoonist (Jake Gyllenhaal) who each investigate the crimes in their own way, eventually working together at different times over the course of the case. Despite the 2 hr 40 minute running time, the movie moves at a very fast pace and the cast is full of known and accomplished actors. The only negative is that its so long that a couple of bathroom breaks were necessary.
Did I enjoy the movie? Yes.
Would I watch it again? Hmmm.. maybe, it's LOOOONG!
Buy the DVD? Eh, not sure either...
