A Trip to Florence Mall Y'All
Mar. 4th, 2006 04:46 pmThursday I got a call from my optometrist to let me know that my trial contacts were in and yesterday Lenscrafters left a message that my glasses were in. So today after the gym, I made a trip to Florence Mall to deal with both. My optometrist got me to try the new Acuvue contacts that correct for my astigmatism. They were pretty comfortable, so folks may see more of me in them from now on, at least during the next week as she wanted me to wear them more to get used to them.

My New Rimless Glasses
My glasses feel so light compared to my others. My prescription barely changed, so little that my optometrist said I could wear my old and new pair interchangeably without problem. The new ones are a lot more fragile than my others, so I have to be extra careful with them. I got fitted by a very cute, goatee-wearing guy named Josh (I think), who is family I am betting. A co-worker of his came in with her new baby and he squealed and gushed over the baby in that oh-so-gay way. He said that he thought I looked good in my new glasses. Granted, I'm sure he's trained to say that, but it felt good to hear it.
On my way out, I stopped by Suncoast to look at the movies and found that they are going out of business. First Media Play, now them, it's sad really. Of course, this is a bad mix for me, DVD's at going out of business discounts. I was pretty good, bought only one DVD, The Haunting (1963), for $10. I'm sure there will be a review coming in the future.
