House of Wax... Dummies...
May. 6th, 2005 06:47 pmI have been all over Northeastern Kentucky today, inspecting a couple of distant feed mills. I put over 300 miles on the poor car. It was a beautiful day though and I saw several natural scenes I'd love to have photographed. I need to remember to pack my camera on these trips.
Almost home, I passed by the Great Escape 14 theater and decided to stop and see House of Wax. Good heavens, what a poorly written movie. The plot was nearly non-existent and the acting even weaker. It had about every horror movie cliche imaginable, especially the half-naked bimbo blonde girl, crying and running for her life in the woods. Guess who played that role. Yeah, I cheered when she was knocked off. Sadly, I didn't like any of the characters in this movie enough to care when they got killed.
The one bright spot was when they showed how the killer would coat a victim in wax. Not a spoiler as it was shown in the previews that it's what the killer did. There was something of a spine-tingling part in that, guessing what the victim must have been thinking as he was prepped and coated in wax and then put on display alive. It is too bad really, the movie had some potential, but never lived up to it.
I wont lie, I did enjoy it some, but I enjoy bad horror movies for the most part. They are laughable.
