Yesterday went pretty well, got an amazing amount of work done and still took off early. A co-worker, Miss Republican, and I decided to go to the Pub, an Irish pub, for a beer and lunch. We both took the rest of the day off.

Now that the election is done, she and I get along much better, provided we don't discuss politics. During lunch, she and I talked about our dating lives and what not. When reminiscing about college, she came to tell me about her college roommate who ended up coming out to her as a lesbian. She'd known the girl since grade school and she said it made no difference to her. Maybe it was the beer or just a bit of realization that she's more liberal than she lets on, but I told her my orientation as well. And strangely, she wasn't that surprised. She said she never really gave it any thought because it doesn't matter to her. Wow, she's smarter than I thought originally. She even bought me lunch. Very impressed.

I drove to Corbin from there, three hours on the road. My iPod certainly makes that journey more fun. Later, I went to see Mom and she showed me the quilt she had been making from my tee-shirts. I was bowled over. It was so strange to see the last 10 years of my life incorporated onto a quilt. It's amazing and I couldn't help staring at it. I almost cried and hugged my mom, she's the best. It's sadly not finished yet, but I'll post pics when Mom gets it done.

Well, I'm off to see what mischief I can get into today.

It was nice to wake up with absolutely no plans. It was just a day of any possibilities. The twin and I had a rip-roaring farting contest in the morning, so everything is as it should be here for us. What can I say? We're a bit twisted.

I went over to Mom's to drool over my quilt some more and then to my sister's, where she and I decided to go see The Ring Two. With my poor brother-in-law, JB, in tow, we went to our hometown's new movie theater, stadium seating and no sticky floors (yet). The movie was pretty good. Naomi Watts is such a good actress, I really am growing to like her. There were some great jump-worthy scenes and the plot was pretty coherent I thought. It's on a par with the first one, but I don't see it as better.

Three cell phones went off in the theater, mine being one of them, luckily set to vibrate mode. One of the other two was my brother-in-law's that rang out loud. Both calls was my twin, who knew we were at the movies, but had to call and tell JB that he had bought him a case of beer. Sometimes it's the little things that remind me how red the twin's neck really is.

After dinner, I went back to Mom's to help with the quilt some more. I'm finding that the process is relatively easy, but very time consuming. I'm actually contemplating buying a sewing machine. I've never used one, but I'm thinking it's time I learned how, especially while Mom is active enough and willing to teach me.
