Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, hope it is a good one for all y'all (insert Kentucky accent here). Lots to report here, so I put in cuts for brevity. I need jeremasaur to teach me how he does it so neatly.

Well, that's it. I'm off to get cleaned up so I can help the family cook today. Sigh.. I have to work tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to getting home.

Back home again

Oh it is so good to be back in my own house. It's a relief just to walk in the door and find it still standing. Don't get me wrong, dinner was great and I love hanging out with my family, but at home I can relax more.

Unfortunately, I have to work tomorrow, one of the few and the proud at the office. It'll be an easy day, as most places I could inspect are closed. I bought a DVD recorder this week, so I'll likely be spending some time over the weekend getting some of my VHS taped shows transferred.

Incoherent Rant on .... Abstinence Education

Sorry for the multiple entries tonight, but I just saw this on Yahoo News. What a complete waste of money! It's no wonder why we are stuck in one of the highest defecits in history.

Bush wants to spend over a hundred million dollars to try to convince teenagers to not have sex until marriage. Not one dollar for birth control apparently, which not only stops pregnancy, but STD's. It galls me that he and other ultra conservative idiots live in a fantasy world where they believe that teenagers wont have sex because they are told that abstinence is the only way to prevent pregnancy or worse. It amazes me that he and others don't see the potential damage they are doing. I'm not saying they shouldn't teach abstinence, but they should realize that most people, including Bush I would guess, did NOT wait until marriage to do the dirty deed. I'd rather have a kid having sex with a condom than to have him or her a parent at 15 because they didn't know about them.
