Best Day of Class Thus Far
Jul. 20th, 2004 09:13 pmToday was pretty good. It mostly centered on one speaker named Anne. She was remarkable. Funny, blunt, animated and severe, she kept us enthralled for two hours today. At 5'5" and about 45 years old, she came across as a force to be reckoned with. I would hate to be in an argument with her, because I know that I would have my work cut out for me.
A cross between Bette Davis and Susan Powter (sp?), she could easily sell a car with three flat tires using only the intimidation generated by the lift of only one of her finely-penciled eyebrows. She is the type of powerful broad that makes gay men want to do drag impressions of her. As much as I really don't use the word, she was FABULOUS!
The whole class loved her very fierce presentations, with her pointed wording and humor and dramatic gestures. I stand in awe of her, a woman that Joan Crawford would have loved to hate.
