Busy night at the mall...
Feb. 5th, 2004 08:46 pmNormally, I avoid the mall. Just hanging out there was never anything I wanted to do. However, I needed to do a few things there. After getting my inheritance check, I thought I would do some things I've been putting off.
I went to the optometrist at the mall to get the eyes checked. It's been over two years, so it's time. After getting them dialated, my eyes are sore, strange as it sounds. I got new contacts and spent way too long waiting for some customer service at Lenscrafters. I spent a lot of the time picking out a new pair of frames that negate some of the Harry Potter look a buddy says I have. Lenscrafters has some yummy bear cubs working there too!
While I was waiting for my glasses to be ready, I went by the Cincinnati Bell store and decided to get a cell phone. My brother has been hounding me for months to get one as I travel a lot for work. It was a good deal and it's fun to join the rest of the world who seems to already have one.
Picked up my glasses, which I like, but got home and realized that they are a bit more metallic than I realized. Eh, change is good, I guess. I need to wear my contacts more anyway to get used to them. All things together, I spent about $500 today, most of which were necessary evils, so I don't feel too bad about it. Finally got home a little bit ago. The night at the mall made for a long day.
