Just got home from a date with Shawn. It's been a long time coming. We've been chatting and calling each other for weeks, but holidays and illnesses have kept us from having a first date until tonight. And I thought the weather might have this one canceled.

Met him at TGIFriday's near my house. He cuter than his pictures. He has a kind face and a very disarming smile and attitude. He and I both went to the same small Christian liberal arts college a few years apart so we caught up about campus gossip and events. We didn't lack for anything to talk about, which was great.

Afterwards we went to the movies and saw "Stuck on You," a very odd, but funny movie. What else would you expect from the Farrelly brothers? It was a good movie and Cher is very funny as the diva/bitch/later understanding star. I sat next to him the whole time and wished I could put the arm between our seats up so we could be a little closer, but the theater was crowded and it would have been a little uncomfortable.

After the movie, we drove back to Friday's to get my car, which is when we said good night as the snow was starting to really fall. Got to finally hold his hand, touch his face, and get a good night kiss. His moustache tickles and I like that. It was a good date and I definitely would like to see him again.

Big news!

I am not a big fan of reality TV shows. I empathize too much with people in supposedly "real" situations. "Survivor" and "American Idol" are neat to watch I hear, but I've never gotten into them. Some, like "Temptation Island" and "The Bachelor," are just plain ridiculous and are akin to Jerry Springer. Again, my opinion only, I do not mean to insult anyone who likes these shows.

"The Surreal Life" was one I did not watch, simply because I didn't really care for any of the has-been stars on it. Tonight I saw the previews for next season of "The Surreal Life." Among, the "stars" will be Mascara Queen Tammy Faye Baker, Talentless rapper Vanilla Ice, Lovable Loser Gary Coleman, and Hairy Straight Porn Star Ron Jeremy. Not that I'm a fan of any of them (although I admit I've probably seen more of Ron Jeremy's work than any of the others), it may actually be a bizarre enough mix to entice me to watch. The idea of a head to head between Ron and Tammy Faye could be quite messy.
