Root Canal Aftermath

Well, I'm back from having my root canal done. I'm impressed how far dentistry has come. I've heard horror stories from older cousins and uncles about it taking days to recover and being on potent pain medications. My root canal was relatively painless, but now that the numbness is wearing off, it's more like a dull, occasionally throbbing, ache.

I'm pretty thankful for that considering the crippling pain, gauze filled mouth, and oozing sore alternative. I admit, the $725 I shelled out hurt more I think. The good news is that I got to see "Legally Blonde" while the dentist rooted around in the mouth. Not a bad flick.

I debated on actually going to the office this afternoon, but the ache is distracting and I think a nap will do me some good, especially after a couple of tylenol.

Feeling better, still sore...

Got up about 5:30. The nap did me good, I woke up with a strange burst of energy. I went out to get the mail and noticed the yard was covered in leaves.... again. The price of owning a house with a big Maple tree -- good shade for the summer, several days of leaf raking in the fall.

Knowing that the trick-or-treaters will be coming the night after next, I figured that I should clear the yard and steps before then and, since I have dinner plans for tomorrow, there was no time like the present. Strange to rake leaves at night. I'm thankful I have good outside lights.

Now I tired and sweaty... time for a shower and dinner... and a couple of more Tylenol.
