New Ross is a very small town, took a long bus ride to get here, and got dropped off 15 minutes from the hotel which is actually pretty cool, but very isolated. I think this is the type of place people go to for getting away from everything. The walk up the very steep driveway nearly killed me, especially since I was dragging my luggage along with me.

Only dial-up internet access in the rooms, so posting will be limited this week. Also, the internet access they "provide" in the lobby is for payment. Two F*CKING Euro for ten minutes (that's about $3.50), so I'll not be using this crazy service but this once. What a ripoff! I'll hope they have an internet cafe in town while I'm playing tourist tomorrow.

Well, at least they show Cartoon Network here... My next hotel has WIFI, so things will be better there.

So how long are you in New Ross before you hit your next destination/hotel?

If you're only getting two Euros for $3.50, you're getting RIPPED OFF on your exchange rate! Two Euros SHOULD be about $2.50 right now.

Yikes!

New Ross, so quiet they named it once

Indeed, it's a very far cry from Limerick. But I hear that St Mary's Cathedral is worth seeing, and there's also a ship that doubles up as a museum devoted to Irish emigration to America. They were going to sail it over to Boston at one stage, but didn't raise the money for it. Hope you manage to do some nice touristy things while you're there.
