Derek ([livejournal.com profile] _decibel_ was kind enough to invite me and [livejournal.com profile] cincycub over for dinner with him and his honey Chris. Derek is a damn good cook, I was impressed. We settled down to watch a DVR'd Justice League Unlimited followed by the first full hour of American Idol I've ever seen. I'm a freak, I know. I'm still pulling for Bo Bice, I just think he's consistently better. It's not like they'll be a loser in this anyway as I'm sure both will get recording contracts.

Afterward, we had Graeter's ice cream (or as I refer to it "Orgasmic Ice Cream") and watched the season finale of House MD. It's a really good drama, with some great humor, but some gritty situations. The lead is Hugh Laurie, a British actor I know better from the BBC Blackadder series, but probably better known as the dad in Stuart Little. He does a great American accent. It is so good, you know it's going to get canceled.

I came home to a phone message from [livejournal.com profile] bookish_cub, so we chatted for a bit while I was ironing clothes for work the next day. Erich is a sweet guy. I look forward to a visit from him outside the airport someday.

Sigh.. okay.. back to the grindstone I call work...

Sounds like you had a good time.

Mmmm...Orgasmic Ice Cream...can't wait. :)

Leigh Ann told me about House when it first started. Haven't missed an episode since, until last night. Completely forgot about it. I always watch it after Gilmore Girls. Gilmore Girls wasn't on last night, so I didn't even turn the TV on.

You are not alone in your preference for Bo Bice. He's just a better performer, with a more consistent sound.

I think you'll enjoy Graeters, I'm never disappointed.

And I hope House does well, it's a good show and deserves to be brought back.

Dinner sounds delicious.

I really wish I had paid more attention to the schedule for JLU. Apparently there's been some really good continuity and arcing plots. I hear there is now a five-part mini-arc that starts in the next week or so that pulls in a lot of past history and plot elements.

Oh, it was incredible.. that lime pepper chicken was new to me, but a great flavor.

I caught that new JLU episodes were airing while watching another Cartoon Network toon. I like how they're adding all of the DCU characters in the series, but I admit I love the original seven most. I did like how they introduced Green Arrow to Black Canary though. What a great couple they make.

Very cool! Thanks for having me over...

You know, why does Cincinnati not have a "bear movie night" like Atlanta? I think it would be pretty cool.

And whatever you cook will be awesome, I'm sure ;)

I can tolerate a lot ...

... but I cannot, WILL NOT stand by and let you talk about Graeter's Ice Cream. Not in my house, mister!

Not unless you are willing to pack up a pint of mocha chocolate chip and a pint of chocolate and ship 'em, frozen, to Germany.

(besides, UDF has wicked vanilla shakes)

Oh man ... I just read this about Graeter's and now I'M drooling! Dang it. Another reason to love Cincy.

Graeter's has expanded into Lexington? How weird is that? When we lived in Hyde Park oh-so-many-moons-ago, I remember them when they were just local to Cincinnati (and being a block off the square having one in walking distance). Those were the days. Good grief, now I want ice cream ... from Graeter's! ARGH! *lol*
