After last night's sore joints and chills, I woke up this morning four hours late, sleeping through my alarm, and feeling overall yucky. I called in and crashed in my warmest blanket on the couch. I spent the majority of the day watching TV and playing on the computer. I've cut the rest of my random comments for those who want to pass.

I taped several episode of Kolchak: the Night Stalker off of the Sci-Fi Channel earlier last week. I love this kind of show, it was like the X-Files from the 1970's, which a news reporter who always lucked into finding the supernatural stories. Carl Kolchak was played by Darren McGavin, who I've always found strangely attractive. I don't know why, part looks, part character I guess. I wish they would release the series on DVD.

Kolchak: The Night Stalker

I've heard that ABC is recreating the cult hit for modern viewers. I'll be curious to see who they get for the lead role. Who do you think it should be???

I flipped through channels and caught an glimpse of Maury. I really hate talk shows like this, it's why I don't watch Jerry Springer, because it's the worst of America on the stage and it seems so staged and everyone so stupid. This show was about DNA tests to prove whether or not the child belongs to the suspect daddy. Nice topic, huh? The one I saw was this 14 year old girl and her baby daughter wanting to know if this 18 year old man was the father. That's right, he's 18 now and she's all of 14. When the results came out that he wasn't the father, the child-mom falls apart in hysterics. I want to know where the cops are to arrest the guy who admits on TV that he screwed a girl who was barely a teenager. To play devil's advocate, she admits she told him she was older.. 16. I couldn't feel sorry for either party and I couldn't watch any more of it.

I have already mentioned how much I love B-Grade horror movies from the 1960's. I bought Count Yorga in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart. While wrapped up on the couch, I had to see how bad this was. In actuality, it was fairly decent and even had a few familiar faces in it. The vampire Count Yorga just kept converting women to be his vampire brides and I just had to wonder how many vampy babes he needs. Not to ruin it, but everyone dies.

So that's it, I'm feeling a bit better, so I'll be in the office tomorrow, I think. I'm also heading to bed early tonight because I really don't want to oversleep again.

Ha! I loved watching Kolchak when I was a kid. I, too, wish they'd release it on DVD. I have the pilot on tape somewhere.

Glad you stayed home and rested. Hope today is better. The stuff that has been going around in Atlanta is pretty nasty. People I know who never get sick have gotten it, and have a hard time getting over it, since they won't stay home and rest!

I loved Kolchak when I was a kid. Friday nights were scary night for me...hehehe I watched it all the time. It was like a who's who of B-List celebs!

AS for Count Yorga....did you get the double feature DVD? It contains Count Yorga...Vampire and The Return of County Yorga. They were pretty dated but fun movies.......had a few chills in them.
