The Hometown Drive
Dec. 22nd, 2004 03:45 pmWell, today was a day of the elements. I left the house this morning in the cold wind and snow that was building. I chatted with
mooncub71 briefly on Bear411 earlier to find out that the storm was heading my way. You'd best be careful, buddy, on YOUR way home from work.
I did some last minute Christmas shopping at Krogers for my twin and the brother-in-law, because nothing says "Merry Christmas, Let's Celebrate the Birth of Jesus" like getting each of them two cases of longneck Bud Light. It's the gift of inebriation, damn dry county. I was crossing my fingers that the state patrol wouldn't pull me over. I did slap a bow on the darn things to show they were a gift ;)
After arriving in town and dropping off some presents here and there, I drove past the new movie theater in town. It's amazing to see that my small hometown can support not one, but two theaters. Now it's new and I'll have to visit it to compare. Ah, what a way to spend the week.... And strangely it's in the 50's here, degree-wise.
