Weekend recap

I had a great weekend.

Friday night was Dave and Busters with buddy, eating well and playing video games.

Saturday night was the group celebration of cincycub's 26th birthday at the Rock Bottom Brewery in Downtown Cincinnati. It was a good time and Brian was the perfect host of his own party, moving from one end of the table to the other to make sure everyone got to spend time with the birthday boy!

The party continued at Brian's house, but I had to get home because my sister dropped a bomb on me.. my mom is getting MARRIED!!! She and her steady of several months have decided to tie the knot, so I needed to get home and get the skinny on this. I guess at mom's age (she's 64, he's 70), they really can't waste a lot of time on a lengthier courtship. They're both widowed, so I guess they are lonely and want someone in their lives. It's going to be weird to have a mom with a different last name as mine.

Well, time for work.

Wow.

That started off fun with Brian's party. Then, moved quickly to weird learning about your mother's plans (so suddenly).

I can see how that last name issues is a bizarre aspect.

My mother was widowed shortly less than a year before she died. So, I never went through anything like that.

After my parents divorced my father finally married a woman old enough to be my big sister after living with her for years. My mom lives with a man my age, but they claim they are just roommates. I notice neither of my parents worry me as much having other things to focus on.

Now scramble to find a date for the wedding! Of course keep in mind a gay son with a boyfriend at mother's wedding sometimes steals the bride's thunder.
