kybearfuzz: (Hmmmm?)

And two of those... and one of those...

Every year each department in my office has a food day as we get near our office Holiday Party. I usually stop by Krispy Kreme and get a few dozen diet-wreckers for the office like I did this morning. And I seem to pick up an annoying trend.

Why is it that when people are buying a dozen donuts or bagels for the office they feel the need to select the flavors/types themselves rather than just asking for an assortment? This morning at Krispy Kreme, this guy in front of me bought two dozen assorted donuts and hand-picked every one of them. It's not like he's going to eat them all himself and it holds up the line (or more importantly me!). I've seen this at Panera Bread as well. Nothing irritates me more than to see some frizzy-headed, middle-aged woman in stretch pants picking out three dozen bagels for her office at 6:30 AM.

Just a bizarre observation. Me? I just tell them to mix them up, because everyone's favorite bagel or donut is a free one.

I tend to do this when I pick out bagels at Panera for my office, because there actually are certain varieties that people in my office will want. If I don't get enough cinnamon crunch, people will fight like cats and dogs over them. And I have to make sure there's a couple of asiago cheese so I get one:) I do try to do it in a timely manner, though:)

That's true enough and I can understand picking out certain flavors like that, especially when you know certain ones are wanted. However, I have stood there and watched some people just staring at the bagels, contemplating which one should be selected next, while a line forms behind them.

Oooh we have a food day every year also - officially dubbed the "all-day holiday eatathon."

We have several days like this when each branch of my office does their "food day." I'm surprised we all don't weight 300+ lbs, because none of it is good for you. Yum!

Been there too!

I know how annoying that is. Just pick the freakin donuts and step away from the counter! I actually had this happen with paper stock at my store. This old bitty (read BITCH) took her time picking out what color paper to make her gift tags. She kept bitching because we did not have the stock we used last year. Sorry, bitching about it every ten seconds is not going to bring it back magically, dear! So pick something else, PLEASE! She literally stood there flipping thru the paper swatches for 20 minutes! I finally said "when you decide, get me" and went about my business. FREAK! She is one of these people that if she would just be nice, she would get better service, but NOOOOO she has to be bitter bitch from hell EVERY time she comes in. Always looking to get something free. BiTCH!

Sorry, you got on one of my pet peeves where I work. mmm...Krispy Kremes...grrrr now I am hungry again! Damn you! :-)

Ha! Ha! My evil plan is working! We have so many sweet, sugary varieties of Krispy Kreme..... and you have none! ;)

A few years ago, I used to do my boss the favor of picking up the Krispy Kreme's for her every friday (since it was between my train station and the office). I used to pick every one of the dozen. But that's because I had strict orders from the group as to what was required. IIRC it was half a dozen FRESH glazed, 2 apple cinnamon, 2 chocolate frosted, and 2 boston kreme. So it's quite possible that could be what the guy was doing.
