Random thoughts -- The downside of getting home...

... is getting readjusted to the time changes. After a week in Vancouver (three hours earlier than EST), followed by Italy (six hours ahead of EST for a total nine hour difference), my sleep schedule is all fouled up. I napped earlier today, it lasted six hours, so I've been up all night. I've been chatting on Bear411 for most of it. Been talking to [livejournal.com profile] stereobare, who is a damn nice guy.

Some thoughts on Italy. The food is incredible. On a low carb diet, it's impossible. So I fell off the wagon for a few days out of necessity. I ate well. No damage really to the diet. My 36 waist pants are now fitting loose, you can imagine what the 38 waist ones are doing.

Driving in Italy is like watching a town of teenagers drive -- they drive too fast, on small roads, and have no concept of two car lengths between cars. I was white-knuckling on every car ride. I admire their ability to drive though. They really don't have road rage, they just accept the driving conditions as is. It's old hat to them and I saw only one car accident and that was my last day there.

Well, I'm off to grab a shower and get ready for work. I'm in big trouble around noon.. I'll be ready for another nap, I'm sure. Thank heavens for a three day weekend to recuperate.

You could come nap in my bed... No time change there. *g*

Ah, but if I napped in your bed, would you have taken advantage of me in my sleep (I would hope so!)?

What do you think handsome? *weg*

Would you be up for a guest appearance this weekend? Since [livejournal.com profile] fuzbears is in town... I was thinking about having a gathering. The weather looks a little iffy for an all-out grill thing, but maybe brunch late Sunday morning? Let me know what ya think...

I may be hanging out with friends of mine from Detroit. I certainly would like to meet [livejournal.com profile] fuzbears. I'll give you a buzz and let you know.

Well would be cool to see you.. Lord knows I don't need to be making more sky line chili runs from chicago just to meet the bears.

Not even the dearly departed Dr. Atkins himself could condemn eating carbs while in Italy.

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2004-07-02 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
I would hope not. Even though they were high carbs, they were delicious high carbs!

On Atkins, you start your process with 20g of carbs a day, for 2 weeks, after that you slowly add to the carb count. With as long as Atkins been on his own (if he ever was), his carb count would be pretty high. I'm sure he would have eaten like a pig and not gain anything.
