A Day Off, Popularity Explosion, and Other Stuff

This week has started out fairly well and it zooming into odds and ends now that we're half-way through.

• Back in August, my friend Dave Dudar, a photographer from Atlanta, came and did a photo shoot of me in various places around Cincinnati. A lot of guys he's photographed have been named "Beefcake of the Week" on Modern Bear's Facebook page. Yesterday was apparently my turn. I'd answered a questionnaire for them late last year, and they posted one of Dave's pics of me and my answers yesterday. That post now has over 1400 "Likes." Seriously, more than 1400! I'm flattered beyond belief. It's also come with a series of friend requests from complete strangers. On the plus side though, they posted a link to my comic book and I've also gotten a surge of "Likes" to that page too.



• I took today off because the Cincinnati metro area was supposed to get hammered with freezing rain and snow this morning. We had heavy rain last night, which washed away a lot of the snow already on the ground, but also a lot of the salt that was on the roads. I saw the traffic this morning on TV and it was a mess at 6 AM. So with that and the threat of late morning wintry mix, I begged off. Well, the bad stuff just started about 20 minutes ago. So, I'm kicking myself a bit as I could have put in at least a partial day today. Oh well....



• One of the nice parts of taking the day off is that I managed to get in my bicep workout early. I have considered rejoining a gym as I have been having trouble putting in my cardio workout with the winter weather.



• I'm halfway through the script of Issue #17 of my comic. I hope to have it finished tonight.

Chip received many request of many kinds after his 2000 appearance in American Bear - before social media existed (but there were AOL chatrooms way back then). This does not surprise me at all in many respects.
