Odds and Ends

I haven't posted much lately because I have very little to report. I'm just spending most of the week catching up on my DVR and getting ready for the holiday.

• "The Walking Dead" seems to be taking a different tact this round, with each episode having a different story with various characters, but not all. Prior seasons seem to be very linear, where this season has multi-arcs going on.
  
  
• "American Horror Story: Freak Show" is not as scary as previous seasons. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, as it seems to drag, but then has these really interesting story moments. I like the characters and the back stories they have, but there doesn't seem to be a consistent villain in the show right now. The musical bits are odd too. I liked the ones by Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson, but when Lobster Boy did a Nirvana song, I think they jumped the shark.
  
  
• "Sleepy Hollow" is as good as always. Last night's episode was interrupted by the Ferguson, MO grand jury decision. I'm not making any comments on that one as I don't know all the facts. If only others would do that.
  
  
• I've been enjoying odds and ends too, like "Bob's Burgers" and "Black Dynamite."
  
  
• I still need to catch up on "The Flash."

I must admit, I'm about three episodes behind on "Sleepy Hollow". I've got to catch up, as I really do admire the writing and characters; plus, I have a bit of a crush on Tom Mize who plays Crane:) "Sleepy Hollow's" on an evening when I have a lot programmed on the DVR and I've had problems with the new one in the apartment.

Tom Mison is a hottie, isn't he? And the accent makes me a bit weak. :)

Everyone tells me about shows I should watch, but there just aren't enough hours in the day really.

I'm loving Horror Story, but agree the Nirvana song was annoying. Actually, that whole episode was pretty meh overall..... tho, the murder at the end, kinda heartbreaking.

I think because of the setup of the whole series, with a complete and different story each season, it's easier for me to not really compare them at all i.e. this one is scarier than that one etc. I know Asylum was my least favorite (tho I really did enjoy it) and Coven totally rocked my world, that seems to be the opposite of most others opinion of the seasons but enh... I like what I like :)

I'm loving the Flash, but I still can't get used to Barry as a brown haired guy. I think what bugs me even more is that the guy playing Eddie Thawne is *exactly* what I think Barry should look like. So I keep looking at him and thinking Barry. Actually, Grant Gustin as he's playing Barry would have been an awesome Wally now that I think about it.

I do like the "Freak Show" theme and the back stories for the characters. Watching Amazon Eve beat the $#!+ out of Dell was GREAT! The murder at the end was incredibly sad.

And I have been liking The Flash even though he's not a blond. I think it stays pretty true to the character for the most part.

I don't like horror. I think I'm a bit of a freak on LJ in that regard (which is perhaps an irony?).

I havent watched Sleepy Hollow this year because the season finale was so over the top. Should I give it another chance?

Flash is fabulous, and Arrow's John Barrowman's Palm Springs house is only a few streets away!
