Sick

Earlier last week, I started sneezing. I blew it off as just changes in the environment, possible allergies, etc.

Friday, things started escalating to sniffles and more sneezing, so I was fearing it was turning out to be a cold. Great, I thought, just what I need right now. So I've spent a great deal of the weekend blowing my leaking nose and sneezing. Saturday, I woke up with a clogged nose. Ugh.

One of the guys I was chatting with online suggested getting a neti pot to help break up the congestion. So last night, I bought one at Walgreen's. It's certainly an unusual sensation to flood my nose with a saline solution, especially if I've never done it before. I will say that it seems to work.

When I woke up this morning, my nose was very clogged, so I tried the neti pot again. One nostril was so packed it wouldn't let the water through. Ugh. I blew my nose and it seemed to free up the space to let the water through.

The good news is that I am feeling a little better. Not sure if I'll make it to work tomorrow, but I really need to go in and get things done. I'm just hoping to feel better before NYE.

Not to terrify you (okay maybe a little) make sure to use distilled water or risk brain amebas.

Oh I was prepared for that. I removed my brain before I did it (joke). Actually, I'd already heard about that, so I bought a large jug of distilled water to use for it.

That amoebae gave me nightmares when I took parasitology. Still does.

I use a net-flush. I like it better than the pot. And I boil my tap water first, and then let it cool to around body temp.

Hope you feel better soon.

I do the neti pot thing and it works well for me, if I'm consistent in using it and start it when symptoms appear.
