Odd Inspirations

After a long day at work yesterday, I went home frustrated, which has been something of a pattern for the last couple of weeks. My mind tends to wander a bit on the drive home. Not so much that I'm crashing into things or not paying attention to the road, but on odd thing. Imagination is fueled by so many external forces -- the cars, the radio, the sights, etc. I had the weirdest thought hit me on that drive home and I laughed. The relief was well needed.

Last night, while I watched my DVR'd episode of RuPaul's Drag Race (and I can't believe they sent HER home and let that BUSTED HOT MESS stay), I started doodling that happy weird thought. I liked it so much I actually inked and colored it. And here it is.

What if... at that moment when Bruce Wayne had the inspiration for his Batman identity, he locked onto another image and based his identity on it instead? What if that image was something... er... less terrifying? It might go something like this:



Well... I thought it was funny, and you know you want that utility belt...

Update: Ack... I just realized I misspelled "millionaire"... This is why I need an editor.

This is so freakin' awesome! I think there was a parody comic of some sort years ago that had a similar "what if" scenario with multiple ideas of what Bruce could have become, the only one I remember was a clown. This one though... this is the best of them all I think.

I really think it was the lip sync that was the deciding factor. As the other queens pointed out, using the old trick of turning away to hide that you don't know the lyrics is a bad sign. And if anyone knows about old tricks, it's Ru!

That may have been the deciding factor, but still... at least the one looked like a lady. The other one looked like some freaky voodoo doll -- bad hair, bad make up, bad outfit. Seriously, the little guy was creepy looking, and not in a fun Sharon Needles sort of way.
