Post-Run and Amazon Shipping

I'm not suffering any ill effects from yesterday's post-work outdoor run. It was so warm yesterday, I couldn't resist going for a run, even though I wasn't at 100% from my cold. I'd not exercised in a week and it was just irritating me. I decided to take it easy though. I ran the usual distance, but I didn't push myself to make it by a certain time. My end time was... well.. horrible, but I just let my body move at whatever pace felt okay. Today, I'm feeling no worse, so we'll call it good.

I just tracked the order I made at Amazon the other day. It was originally at the Amazon warehouse which is ten miles from my house, so I figured that it would show up today probably. Now I see via the tracking that they shipped it up to Columbus. What the hell??? I wish they'd just let me drive over to their warehouse and pick it up on my way home from work instead of wasting two days giving the package a grand tour of mid-Ohio.

Back to the grind. I'm looking forward to the weekend already.

I read a story where Amazon is looking at allowing buyers to pick up their purchases directly from the warehouses. I'm not sure of details, but I read it earlier this week.

Glad to hear that you're feeling better!

HUGS!

I'll have to look this up, because there is a warehouse so close, almost everything I order comes from there.

And thanks :)

and they're actually talking about opening stores, where you can order online then pick it up at the store.

hahahaha... that's sort of like when we put a letter in the US mail that just needs to go down the street and it ends up being routed through SF or Oakland. I could have just walked the letter over :P

glad you are on the mend :)

I've seen this sort of thing happen before and I really don't get it. They easily could have popped it in USPS and I'd have had it the next day.

When I passed my qualifying exam in grad school for my Ph.D, they awarded me my Master's degree (this is common). I lived down the street from the university at the time, a five minute walk. They sent my Master's diploma to me by air mail costing 8 dollars!

Weird. glad to know they fuck with everybody. I work across from their warehouse here in Lexington, and my orders always go to Cincy. Glad to know Ohio folks' orders go someplace else too. How is this efficient?

it's maddening!

oh, i hate that shit. amazon started it last summer. so what used to take 1 Day to be delivered, now takes 4+...

now that I've gone to amazon prime, they ship everything UPS, so I get it next day again.
