Still On The Mend

  • Around 7 PM last night, my hopes of going to work today fizzled as my decongestant wore off and my sinuses refilled and coughing restarted. I wasn't as recovered as I thought. So after this morning's coughing fit, I called in for the day. I hate it when my coworkers come in sick and infect everyone and I have the sick leave to burn.

  • RuPaul's Drag Race last night was great. I think the queens this year aren't as good as previous years, but there are some stand outs. Last night's judges were Max Mutchnick and Nicole Sullivan. The best line I heard from Mutchnick was "No one wants to watch a sitcom starring the little girl from 'The Ring.'" No spoilers, but it was entertaining in a train wreck sort of way :)

  • Tax returns have been deposited! Yay!

  • Spent my birthday Amazon gift certificate from [livejournal.com profile] aceofspace on something useful. I bought one of those code scanners for my car. The "check engine" light came on as I went to the store yesterday. I'm getting tired of it. With the scanner, I can figure out what's wrong with the car myself and reset the light. This will fix those intermittent bugs that trigger the light and allow me to turn it off when the bug isn't active.

  • I am not sure what to do with myself today. I slept most of the three-day weekend away and I want to try to stay awake. I have some DVR'd stuff to keep me occupied. Sounds like a good day to sit on the couch.

Milan just swiffered the floor with her taint.

LOL! True, THAT has to be the best line of the night. Just wish it didn't come out of Willam's mouth. Not a fan of her.

Have you heard that she's been on television??? /snark

Willam is a bitch and a half but she's growing on me. I love her snark. However, I really, really, really, really want to see Sharon rip Jiggly's ham hock spine out through her nose and then beat Phi Phi do death with it.

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2012-02-22 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh... now that would make some ratings!

I don't see what's so special about Phi Phi. So far she's really not done anything I find exceptional. Her only skill seems to be mouthing off.

And Jiggly apparently cries at the drop of a hat. Spine removal would be good for her, give her something new to bawl about.

I would like to see more of Chad Michaels. She's impressive, but doesn't seem to make many waves.

It is probably for the best you took another day off! I hope you recover soon, though. I hate being sick.

I'm hopeful that tomorrow will be better.

Be careful your cough doesn't turn into something worse (pneumonia). Take it easy and REST.

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2012-02-22 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! The cough is becoming more of an annoyance at this point. I can tell things are breaking up (gross as it sounds).

Good decision. Your health comes first. HUGS

Thanks Mike, I thought one more day would be helpful and it has been.

Look after yourself first and foremost - and hope you get better soon! As for RuPaul's Drag Race, we loved the first couple of series...there are teasings that we'll get the next series soon *crosses fingers and hopes REEEEALY hard*
Healthy hugs Mark :)

I think that you can go to logotv.com and watch the episodes of this season on-line. Give it a shot :)

Big hugs! And Thanks ;)

Get better soon, bud!

I've always wanted to get one of those code scanners.

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2012-02-22 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks handsome!

As for the scanner, I figured it costs me $80 or more every time I go to the mechanic just to have it checked out and/or turned off. The last couple of things have been intermittent fluctuations of the air/gas mixture that the garage couldn't replicate and weren't happening at the time. So this $50 unit will save me some money if the same thing is happening and it comes with an updatable database to ID problems. You can even print out a sheet to take to the mechanic.

I think it'll save me money in the long run.

Do you use a neti pot? I've used one for about 5 years now, and I've noticed that I catch fewer colds, and the ones I do get aren't as severe, nor do they last as long.

If nothing else, it's a way to get the gunk OUT of you.

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2012-02-22 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't used one, but I've been thinking about getting one as everyone seems to have good luck with them.

If it could flush out the mucus before I choke on it, that's a great thing!

[identity profile] bruinwi.livejournal.com 2012-02-22 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Neti pots are low-tech, and potentially messy; you may be appalled at the gunk coming out of your face. If you're the type that uses a nose-clip to go swimming, you will not be fond of this device.

As the Vulcan observed: "Primative, yet effective."
