Return of the Substitute Monday

I'm feeling out-of-sorts and a bit ADHD today, like I'm trying to get the camera to focus, but there's petroleum jelly on the lens. Damn that Barbara Walters haze.

The weekend was good for the most part. I went to see "Shark Night 3D" on Friday afternoon and it turned out to be exactly what I expected - blood and gore, but no female nudity (it was PG-13). I did jump a few times, so it had some good bits, but it came across pretty much as a SyFy Channel monster movie with a better budget. There is a horrible rap video made by the cast at the end, but I left halfway through that. It made me glad most of them were eaten.

My butt spent most of Sunday on the couch while I finished up the rough sketches for the 23 pages of Grizzly #6. It sounds like a great accomplishment until I realize I have to ink, color, and letter them and then do the same to the cover.

So it feels like Monday. Boo... but at least Thursday will feel like Friday since I'm off that day and Pride Night at King's Island is only four days away. Something grand to look forward to, indeed.

But petroleum jelly on the lens gives you that soft focus that makes you look like you have a halo!

Actually declined to see the Shark Night in 3-D this weekend. I already know what's going to happen, and besides, even if the men are swimming around shirtless, they'll all be smoothies. Yawn.

They were mostly smoothies, but the male lead had the slightest hint of shaved chest fuzz. I really wish they'd quit shaving them down to make look younger. I had a furry chest when I was college, so why shouldn't he??

I hate stubble.

I had a hairy chest in high school. in fact, I had a hairy chest in junior high school.

Ah, mine wasn't so furry in junior high, but I kept looking down and seeing the start of it, hoping my fur would sprout. My dad wasn't furry, so I was hoping for a recessive fur gene (which happily I got).

My father had no chest hair, either. Luckily, I take after the men in my mother's family. I was so embarassed by being so hairy so young that I used to shave it off. I stopped when I got to high school.

I had uncles on both sides of my family who were furry, so I had hoped I'd grown some. My dad's brother is extremely furry, so I knew Dad had a gene in there somewhere for it.

Speaking of bad SyFy movies, I watched "Battle: Los Angeles" yesterday and I kept thinking "wow, this is bad". Its so bad I bet SyFy will pass on ever airing it. It looked bad enough that Aaron Eckhart, who I'd watch shaving himself, looked embarrassed.

May your week be short and painless!

Thanks!

I suspect that movie was like "Skyline," which had no real plot, just lots of expensive special effects. I can see why Donald Faison of "Scrubs" went back to network TV after that.
