Halloween - Night at the Movies

I created my first Facebook "event" this week. Brian ([livejournal.com profile] cincycub) said he was very proud of me for using the social networking tools at my disposal. High praise from a master event planner.

The local Rave movie theater is having a horror movie series where they play past horror films on Thursday night. I went a couple of weeks ago to see the original "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" on the big screen and enjoyed it. This week's movie was the original "Halloween" from 1978 and instead of going solo, I posted an event to see if any locals wanted to join me.

Passenger PandaThe turn out was surprisingly good considering the poor Ohio folks had to drive into Kentucky to see it. Seven of us in all, including Brian, [livejournal.com profile] cubtharsis (in a rare local appearance - joke), and [livejournal.com profile] thrd_uncle all came out, along with three non-LJ folks. It was fun to see a young Jamie Lee Curtis running from Michael Myers on the big screen. We even had a Halloween virgin among us and how he went all those years without seeing it I'll never know.

The last movie in the series is next week, "The Thing," (the 80's remake I believe), and there is already some interest in going to it.

As I was leaving the theater, this truck was parked next to my car. I did a double-take when I saw the panda in the car. Maybe it was because I just left a scary movie, but I couldn't get over the feeling that any moment, it was going to turn its head to look at me.

I think you're confusing the panda with Chucky. Creepy moment #462: I was about halfway through reading "The Amityville Horror". I woke up in the middle of the night, looked at the clock, and it was 3:15am. Then a fly landed on me. I didn't go back to sleep that night.

Oooh... I can only imagine.

Okay seeing that panda in the truck after seeing a scary movie (not something I would do any way) would have sent me running and screaming like a little girl!!!!

The panda in the truck would freak me out too.

Halloween is one of my favorite scary movies. I rarely watch them even to this day cause they scare the shit out of me.

I grew up with woods on all sides of our house it was the last one on the road. The driveway was about half a mile with no street lights.

Needless to say it was not the environment to watch scary movies late at night. lol

I've never seen Halloween. But then, I dislike horror/suspense movies. I've also never seen any Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street movies either. The only real scary movie I can remember seeing was the first Scream and that was on video years after it came out.

I think we're doing it again on Thursday to see it, if you're free.
