Friday Bits & Pieces

Ugh... there is nothing worse than a summer cold. Apparently I caught it during my trip down to Dalton, GA last week. By Monday my voice started to get deeper and scratchy. At first I chalked it up to allergies and being tired, but it's progressively gotten worse. This morning I couldn't get up and make it to work. You know that feeling. That fine line between "I'll cope with it" and "I need rest" got crossed. I do wish the "Barry White" quality in my voice would stay without being sick.

InkSo after five more hours of sleep, I'm up. I'm missing the Halloween costume contest at work, but I didn't have anything ready. Still I'm curious what showed up. The new folks are creative, but one of them stopped by my office yesterday to ask what I was doing. My Brownie Scout outfit from two years ago still lingers as one of the most memorable.

Last night, I was watching another 70's horror flick Cannibal Girls, staring a very young Eugene Levy and Andrea Martin. It wasn't great, but it was fun for what it was -- cheap and easy. I bought a large 12" x 18" newsprint pad to draw on, similar to what I remember using back in first grade, so I've been doodling on it.

With nothing specific coming to mind, I started a sketch of a guy coming out of the mud or water and it ended up turning into this. I think it as my "one never knows what may come out of my inkpen" cartoon. I should buy stock in Sharpie's.

Nothing else to report at this point. I hope everyone has a fantastic Halloween

ah yes, the Barry White voice. Can you imagine what Barry White sounds like when he gets sick? I can imagine a 18hz rumble

I misread your title line as "Fleshy" bits and pieces. I guess my mind's been in the gutter all day. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Cannibal Girls sounds like a hoot!

Get well soon Mark! ((((HUGS))))

I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well! The last time that I had attended a Halloween party was nearly 30 years ago. I was a Freshman at the U of A, majoring in architecture at that time.

I thought that the bear rising out of the ink bottle was quite impressive! :-)

great drawing. i like how you have him coming out of the inkwell... kind of gives some strange power or potential to the ink...

hope ya feel better, barry.
