Snow

When I was a kid, I remember looking out the window, either at school or at home, and watching the first snow fall. It was always so exciting. It made me think of snow days from school, going sledding, and snowball fights.

Now I see it fall outside my window and think of shoveling driveways, slick roads and insane traffic jams.

I really miss the old days.

I remember a comedian once saying that you were officially an adult when you started ending your laughter with a drawn-out, contemplative sigh.

Maybe you can schedule in some toboggoning! (Er, I assume that's an actual word...)

Welcome to my world.

Over 50 years of living in snow country and while I built snowmen, dug forts and sledded, I never skied, driven a snowmobile, or ice skated. For the most part, snow was just stuff that got in the way.

What's snow?? Just kidding... It snows so rarely in the Bay Area, and when it does, it doesn't stick around, unless one lives in the surrounding mountains. When I think of snow, I think of a roaring fire, a good book, and good snuggles.
