Project Runway
I've been taking a little break from the internet. Sometimes it's good to get away.
My buddy Tim has hooked me on Project Runway this season, which I've heard from many a fan is not the best. I do like that it really is a straight-forward competition without the back-stabbing, alliance-making crap in which most reality TV wallows.
This past week, I watched Season One on DVD from Netflix. Wow. There is a huge difference from where it started to where it is now. I did enjoy it, even though I think that one lady Wendy was pretty much out of her mind from the start. She had a Survivor-esque mentality that made little sense, but I'm sure she was good for drama. From the missing dye to the missing rock-outfit pieces to the mysterious mustache on her daughter's photo, I think she was responsible for all of it. She may have put on her crying fit, but I wasn't buying it.
I've put Season Two in the queue. I have to say I guess I'm hooked. I do respect the show and the competitors. While my favorite is already gone from the current season, I have to say that the remaining three, even with their odd temperments, definitely are talented designers.

I was a big fan of Shirin to be honest. I thought she was innovative and creative, especially when in crunch time. The wedding dress challenge was a good example. With minimal materials at her disposal she went for something that most folks wouldn't have considered (thread) and drastically changed the look. And for the record, the bride she made the dress for was a complete whack job!

And at first I thought Tim Gunn was sort of snobbish in his tone, but now I love him. I even bought the comic book where he had to put on the Iron Man armor. I think he should do more commentary :)

Let's face it, as wonderful as Wonder Woman's bustier is, her boobs would be flopping out all over in the real thing. :)
