Overseas Trip 2009
I finally have my itinerary for my overseas work trip next month. As of now, the schedule is:
Sept 11 - Sept 16 -- Hoersholm, Denmark
Sept 16 - Sept 19 -- Sainte Croix en Plaine, France
Sept 19 - Sept 26 -- Loures (near Lisbon), Portugal
I'll be doing a lot of flying it seems. Still, I'm getting excited. I am a bit sad that I'm not going to any major cities (with the exception of Lisbon), but sometimes the smaller cities and townships have a lot of great local history and charm that the larger ones lack. When I work overseas I tend to find that the smaller cities are easier to manage as there are less distractions, but enough to keep me occupied.
And
boobooirl, I think Sainte Croix en Plaine is near Strasbourg, but I don't know your definition of "close." :)

When you travel for a show, how much free time do you usually have to see the cities you visit?

I've always been interested in taking in the cities where I was performing .. I look at the architecture, the history, the cultural references, the shopping, the restaurants ... I call it city-shopping. Would I want to live here? It was the way I kept from feeling lonely on the road, as a loner. Fortunately, over the years I've been blessed with friendships in most major cities, so now it's like being paid to go see my friends!

What takes you to Denmark?

I'm away on the 16th, but we should see if I can drive down that far one of the evenings.
