Monday Morning Commentaries...

Shrinking Cans...When I went grocery shopping over the weekend, I bought some of the fat free Pringles as usual. I didn't notice anything unusual about them until I put them on the counter next to the older can I already had. As you can see, downsizing isn't occurring just in the workforce. The only thing that didn't downsize was the price. Forgive the bad photo, it was late and I was tired.

In morning news, I did something impulsive this morning. I opened the email at work advertising foreign work trips and found two for the same dates, one in France and one in Italy and Germany, in late May and Early June. Impulsively, I threw my name into the hat for either one. The big selling point is that they are for two-week trips, which are rare.

I hope I haven't screwed up this morning with that. I need caffeine.

Why would you have messed anything up by throwing your hat in the ring?

Committing to a trip is a dice roll of sorts.

If the trip I applied for isn't available, they often try to pressure me to take another trip to somewhere I didn't want to go.

Also, it's hard to predict what will be going on in my office when the trip is so far in advance. I could be leaving during a hectic period when they might need me more.

I can understand that, but sometimes you just have to say what the hell and go for it. Here's to hoping you get one of the good trips :-)

I had a meltdown (nearly at least) at walmart the other day when they had a huge rack of pringles...$1.50 a can. WTF? They were $1 last week. 50 percent increase in less than a week. I don't think so. I'd starve before I'd pay $1.50 for something that I'm used to paying a dollar for. And less of them to boot!

We bought our usual 12 pack of Diet Coke, to find it had been downsized to 10 cans

Are you serious??? That is just ... wrong...
