The Gift... It expires...

My boss just dropped off a VISA gift card to me for $97.50.

I thought it an odd amount, like I could have gotten $100, but that one smartass-remark-too-many cost me a $2.50 deficit. Heck, if that was the cause, I'd likely owe him money. Lots of it.

It turns out that the card is over a year old since its issuance and for every subsequent month after the first year, a $2.50 charge is deducted. Considering the large stack he was carrying around, it looks like we're all getting the odd amount today.

When I asked what it was for, he said, "Oh, just because!"

I jokingly replied, "Well, if it's for morale, you're wasting your money!"

... damn, there goes another $2.50.

PS -- One the back it reads, "If your card is lost or stolen or used improperly, please contact the number on the back of your card immediately."

... and if the card is stolen, just how does one do that?

Maybe he needed something for 2.50 prior to giving it to you. I think that is misuse...call the number!

LOL.. I'll have to check to see if I see any expensive luxuries in his office :)

All my current bosses give me is grief.

Unfortunately, grief is free and there is a lot of it to go around.

So, whatcha gonna' spend it on, big spender?

I was thinking about that. I may actually just use it to buy a gift card at Speedway or Shell and use it for gas money. Not terribly exciting, but practical.
