Locker Room Serenade

I did a bit of weight lifting and running at my gym today. When I went to change to head home, I was asked by a strange guy in the locker room if I liked this song.

I looked at him with a big "huh?"

It occurred to me he was talking about the Linkin Park song playing over the speakers. "It's okay," I said back, "I think this is the only song I've heard of theirs."

"What is it called?" he asked.

"I have no idea," I responded.

The guy then sang the lyrics to the song to try to find the title in the chorus. While he was doing this, a younger guy walked in.

"I think it's called 'Numb,'" he said.

"I think you're right," I said again and scurried out.

As I was making my way out, I heard him ask the young guy, "Hey, do you like this song?"

Run, I thought... run now...

Smart move getting the hell out of there, Mark. I've encountered a number of creepy folks like that at the gym. He probably had a ball gag and a roll of duct tape in his gym bag.

I guess that's a better pick up line than "What's your sign?" or "Do you want to see my equipment?"

Having had some experiences like that, I'll just say it's probably best that you ran.
