A New Vacuum

Dyson Vacuum Cleaner.. a blue oneI finally broke down and bought that new vacuum cleaner. I swore I was just going to spend a certain amount, but the more and more I looked at online reviews and the functions, the more I wanted a Dyson. So today, I blew a good chunk of my tax return and got a Dyson. A blue one.

As I was assembling the unit in my downstairs family room, Murphy the cat was sniffing around the thing, playing in the empty box, etc. It wasn't until I put the handle in place and stepped aside that my cowardly tomcat finally realized what it was. The bane of his existence. Another vacuum cleaner. I imagine that this is what the Sarah Connor character felt in the second Terminator movie when the liquid metal-morphing terminator attacked. It's new and shiny and unknown to Murphy and he ran.

As far as function goes, I'm amazed. I thought about posting a photo of the dust, hair, etc. that the cleaner sucked out of my carpet from just two rooms, but I was embarrassed. I swear it looks like I'd not vacuumed since I bought the house nearly seven years ago. The hand held attachment does a great job cleaning the couches too.

I admit, I'm happy with it. Thanks to everyone for their advice and recommendations on vacuum cleaners :)

This is the "Total Clean" model. The blue color caught my attention, but it was the hand-held sweeper attachment that sold me on it.

Ooooo, you hang out with the best vacuums! Enjoy your clean house!

It sounds very strange, but the carpet actually feels different to my bare feet, like it's been fluffed up somehow. I'm thinking it was a good buy.

I really wanted to get one when I purchased a new vacuum cleaner a couple years ago, but the price was just too high. I wish I would have though. Enjoy!

I really didn't want to spend this much, but it was rated high and I figured I'll keep it for at least ten years or more.

I hate that you bought one because now it might convince me that my hatred of Dyson is an irrational one :(

You have an irrational hatred of Dyson? Why is that? Were you frightened by a Dyson as a child? :D

It's that stupid inventor. I hate his voice. I hate his arrogance. "I just think things should work properly!" - translation: "stupid Americans" ;)

LOL.. I'm sure he means that only in relation to his competition. Still, I agree that he does sound a bit arrogant in his setup. :)

when they tell you it is important not to lose suction...
