Christmas Party Games

Today is our holiday (aka Christmas) party at work. We eat, we play games, and generally have a good time.

My boss just walked into my office and asked:

"How are you at cornhole?"

My boss, who knows I'm gay, looked at my face with the wheels turning in my devious mind and quickly added... "the game... Cornhole the game..."

My response, batting my eyes seductively... "no complaints so far.."

Oh we have a good time. We don't say "gay" in the office as not everyone knows, so we use "fabulous" instead.. which doesn't really hide it.

The Boss: "So what did you do this weekend?"
Me: "Oh, went to see 'Hairspray' the movie with friends.."
The Boss: "Were these Fabulous friends??"
Me: "It was 'Hairspray'! Of course they were Fabulous!"

He's one of the reasons I enjoy working here to be honest. He is one of those bosses you will go the extra mile for (I almost said "bend over backwards for," but figured I'd save myself the commentary...).

I had a somewhat similar situation a couple of weeks ago. A lady came into the store, approached me and another employee, and asked if we had "Cornhole"? Having never heard of this, we both did the slow, no -response, look at each other and hope the other knows what she is talking about response. She realized we had no idea what she was talking about and then went on to explain it. Since then, we must have at least one person a day asking for Cornhole.

Read the Wikipedia entry on the game. It was supposedly created in Cincinnati and it's a lot of fun to play... especially with three or more guys! :)

I'm obviously from the wrong side of the Mason-Dixon line -- I had *never* heard of this game before. Interesting info in the Wiki entry... each inning is made up of a "top" and a "bottom"... "bag-in-the-hole"... etc. etc.

Oh yeah, that game is huge with college students here. I didn't realize it even had a name. I'm still getting a t-shirt though.
