Holy Sheep...

Baaaaaaaaa!Back in 1998, I was selected to be a trainer for a software package in our office (then the laboratory). I went to the train-the-trainer meeting and ended up sitting behind an old pompous-cowboy-windbag named Sandy from Dallas. Not really having much choice but to talk to him, he was telling me about his farm which he leased out to sheep farmers. Apparently some stray sheep remained after the lease expired and they became "feral sheep" which he enjoyed picking off with his shotgun. After he saw my look of puzzlement, he explained that "feral" means "wild"... I shot him a "duh" and stated that I'd never heard it in that context... "feral sheep"...

That being said, last night I watched a movie about genetically-engineered man-eating sheep called Black Sheep. No, not the Chris Farley one, the New Zealand comedy-horror flick. I've found the folks down under have an odd sense of humor when it comes to their horror movies. Lots of blood, lots of gore, people turning to sheep creatures, death by exploding flatulence, and a couple of amorous moments involving sheep on a farm. It didn't play in the mainstream theaters, I can't imagine why. It got decent reviews by critics, believe it or not. You can go to the movie's main website and feral sheep will attack you, your pointer becoming a gun sight so you too can pick them off while reading about the movie.

I do love a corny horror movie like this though and thought it was a hoot. Netflix... it allows me to enjoy these movies, but saves me from buying this stuff.

That movie sounds awesome. I would so love to spend a weekend on the couch with you watching bad funny horror flicks.

I've actually heard of that film before; it was playing at the Toronto Intl Film Festival last year. We opted to see "Severance" instead. It's very interesting too; you might like it.

I had heard about the film, but it never played anywhere near the Cincinnati area when it was released. It was good for a rental. I've already put "Severence" on my Netflix list, thanks for the heads up on that one :)
