Matchmaking friends

One of the greatest and worst things a person can do for you is try to fix you up on a date. Don't get me wrong, my friends and co-workers mean well, but sometimes they just don't take the hint. Unfortunately, some of my more nosy co-workers think that since I'm a single guy that I would be a good catch. Well, I'd hope so, but only if it's for a guy. Most of my co-workers don't know I'm gay. Not that I hide it really, but it's a part of my life I'm still growing accustomed to, just having come out last January.

One of my coworkers wants me to date her niece. She's cute, single, owns her own home, and has a good job. She sounds wonderful.... for someone who's straight. I am reluctant to tell this co-worker I'm gay because I've heard her make negative comments about gay people before. Also, I don't want I want to be forced to tell someone out of situation, but rather because I'm ready to tell them.

Eh... enough ranting and venting. I told the co-worker I wasn't interested (tactfully) and she's let me off the hook, but I get the feeling this isn't over.....

Actually, I would love to be set up by my friends (a hint to my friends who have single friends...) but I have the better scenario that I'm out at work.

Just look at it this way, it's thoughtful of your co-workers to be thinking about you, but just be polite and decline, unless the co-worker is setting you up with their big beefy brother named Chuck.

hehehe...

I have been there too. People at my old job did not know I was gay and kept trying to see if I wanted to go out with so and so...um PEOPLE: I like big fat gay MEN...and I am taken, thank you beary much! Sheesh! Oh well...

It's nice that they care enough to think of you, but hey you like guys...they can deal.

Hugs!
