Netflix and More Meme Goodness...

Yesterday I pondered buying a DVD and put it back. I call this progress. I want to watch the movie and I've heard good things, but because something is a good deal doesn't mean I have to buy it. It's happened way too much of late. So, last night, I joined Netflix for a trial period.

I do like the idea that I can pick and choose the movies I want to see and in looking through their selection I entered in seven immediately. The movie I nearly bought is in the queue. If it's good, I'll buy it. Otherwise, I've saved money. The joys of the Netflix is that I found some great horror flicks from the 1970's and 80's that I had no idea were on DVD. I'll get to watch some stuff from the days of "Commander USA" and his sidekick Lefty, who showed horrible B-movies on Saturday afternoons. It'll be fun, I think.

You are far more disciplined than I. I ran to Target this morning to pick up a cd, and walked out with two dvd's as well as the cd.

You will love Netflix.
We love our subscription.

I look at the wall of DVDs and see lots of things that we only watched once and will never watch again.

I have quite a few like that myself. I hope that Netflix works well for me too. :)

Plus Netflix has stuff you could never get at Blockbuster or even in most Best Buy's or other DVD retailers because Netflix has a good selection of gay & lesbian titles. However... I've noticed the more movies we rent the slower the turn around time is on shipping them to us. So you might keep an eye on that and be prepared to drop customer service a note.

If you have room in your queue I recommend "Shortbus". It's by the guy who did "Hedwig" but it's nothing like Hedwig. I really enjoyed it but it's not for everyone and definitely has moments where it feels like porn, so make sure to cover Murphy's eyes if you get it.

I'll keep the shipping stuff in mind. I think there is a distribution center nearby.

And I've seen Shortbus and thought it was a very INTERESTING movie! It had some very good scenes though :)
