Charlotte Deals with Tourette's

Okay, the scene above is from Family Guy, not from the current remake of Charlotte's Web that Brian ([livejournal.com profile] cincycub) and I went to see this afternoon.

Unlike most remakes, this one has a lot of charm. Dakota Fanning plays Fern, the girl who saves and befriends a small runt piglet she names Wilbur. Wilbur meets the barnyard animals in her uncle's barn, including a witty spider named Charlotte. The animals are voiced by the big names -- Julia Roberts as Charlotte, Reba McIntire as Betsy the cow, Oprah Winfrey as Gussy the Goose, etc. The guy who plays Uncle Zuckerman is a nice woofy bear of a guy :)

The movie is very sweet and entertaining. All of the kids in the theater seemed to be loving the film and being very well behaved. I really enjoyed the live action of the film, missing only the songs from the original cartoon version.

Did I enjoy the movie? Very much so!
Would I see it again? Oh yeah.
Buy the DVD? Maybe for the nephews.

I'm glad the remake sounds so good; I have very fond memories of the original Charlotte's Web. Its the first time I can remember watching a cartoon where someone died.

I want to see it... unfortunately, I still have a problem watching Rankin-Bass Christmas specials without sobbing.
