Scooby Doo, Visiting Friends, and Election Crap

I was talking with a coworker at lunch about cartoons I loved that never seem to come out on DVD. One we had talked about was the Scooby Doo cartoons with Scooby Dum, when the villians were a little more scary (the Ten Thousand Volt Ghost, the Headless Horseman, etc.) I did a quick internet search to find out they were available on DVD as part of the The Scooby Doo - Dynomutt Hour DVD. I just had to stop and buy it at Borders on the way home (I had a 30% off coupon). I'm looking forward to watching those.

Mike ([livejournal.com profile] algebear) is in town for a work conference and met up with me at Universal Grill for dinner. He's a great guy, very interesting and very handsome. His partner is a lucky man. Dinner was good and so was the conversation. We also spent a little time ogling the cute cubby waiter with the nice bubble butt (I think was named Nathan). He's in town until Sunday, so hopefully we'll get to hang out some more.

And could there be more mailings for the election??? I found five in my mail today from the Republican Party of KY. I've never registered Republican, so why I'm getting these is a mystery. I even got one the other day from the Ohio Republican Party, which shows how smart they are, thinking a guy with a KY address could vote for them.

I'm getting a slew of election crap as well. In fact, the latest pile is just a back-and-forth between some state representative and his challenger. I'm just wondering how much they spent on all that, and why that isn't going for better use.

Sigh... no kidding... I do recycle which is where all of this paper garbage is going.

Friends dont let friends vote Republican.

That said, it's really amazing that Gay people could change the course of history in less than a week. Unfortunately, a lot dont know that, or care. The people that oppress are counting on voter/issue apathy.

Um, here the local politicos even call your home asking for your vote. I voted yesterday. I figured I'd avoid the lines. I went in with my HRC http://www.hrc.org voting guide, just as a reminder about a Judicial race going on here.

Ah, I'll have to look for the HRC guide on my home State. With all the crap the Republicans have poured into my mailbox, and believe me I have read it all, I'm tending to vote a complete Democratic ticket.

I went to Skyline for lunch yesterday and you couldn't even watch TV. All the ads were there in succession, enough to make you lose your appetite.

Strangely, I haven't received a lot of mailings this time around. Must be the new address that's throwing 'em off. But there are TONS of those tacky little road-side signs in yards on my drive in to work. They seem to multiply every day. I noticed this morning that some have started putting one sign directly in front of a competitors. It's getting ridiculous.
