Another Dental Day Gone...

My trip to the dentist was pretty good. His office has a TV so I can watch different shows while they grind away at my molar. I caught the religious programming while flipping through. A priest was giving a sermon or lesson. I have seen this channel before and I have to say... the priests on it are hot! All the young priests are this brawny bear types, with full beards and soft spoken voices. Some of the older priests are these graying daddy bear types. I can't help it that they're attractive. Ugh! I'm so going to hell for this.

The other bright spot was Dawn, the dental assistant. She's so funny. Her personality makes up for my dentist's stoic attitude sometimes. She cracks the jokes that I feel that he can't.

Left the dentist's office, picked up some comics at a nearby comic book shop, and then paid a visit to my orthodontist. Got the braces checked out (and I'm the oldest person there with braces... sigh). From there, I hit the gym. Lifted some weights and then did a half-hour of cardio.

So now that I'm on an endorphine high, things are looking pretty good... and so are those priests! I feel pitchforks stabbing me in delicate places.

I had the same problem a while ago! A friend and I went to see a play featuring a priest who was tempted by romantic love and wanted to leave the priesthood, but the actor was DISTURBINGLY attractive! Plus, he reminded me very much of a friend's husband who actually studied to be a priest at one time too. It really messed with my mind!

I can't help that they're attractive, but it makes me feel a little ... heretical ... for some reason. I know that some of my Catholic girl friends call a cute priest Father "What-A-Waste".

Ugh. I've got a dentist's appointment next week. Might have to move it up though, since one of my wisdom teeth has been hurting (I've still got 2 of them left).

What comics do you read? I'm mostly a Marvel and Crossgen reader, though I sprinkle in some occasional DC and some independent (mostly 80's cartoon revivals though *g*)

I feel for you in the case of the wisdom teeth. I had all four of mine extracted at the same time. I was a mess for three days, but the drugs were excellent.

As for comic books, I tend to collect across the board, but Crossgen has been one of my favorites. I love "The First," "Mystic," and "Solus." I even have some original artwork from Crossgen. I have the cover of "The First" #17 mounted and framed on my office wall. It shows Trenin smashing a wall with a three-spiked-ball and chain. And he's half naked. ;)

I also collect "Avengers," "Exiles," and "X-Treme X-Men" from Marvel, and "Teen Titans," "Hawkman," "Green Arrow," and "JSA" from DC. I buy some other books on a less frequent basis. Right now, the "JLA/Avengers" crossover is my current favorite. I love George Perez's work.

The fact that the priests are so brawny and fuzzy is surprising to me, but monks I have always envisioned as being bearded and burly. And I've often wondered what they wear under those robes ;)
