End of the Week

I've been absent a lot this week from LJ and other things due to a work conference and hanging out after work with other attendees. It was a good conference, but it has worn me out... Here are some highlights:

• Plastic colorful hair barrettes in the shape of little bows on 50+ year old women should be outlawed. It makes them look like they are trying out for a remake of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?
  
• I'm playing in the local gay softball league for the Titans. Games are on Monday nights, starting May 1st. I need to find my glove.
  
• I'm teaching two weeklong computer classes in DC in July and August.
  
• My presentation in the conference on foreign travel was well-received, garnering more than a few laughs. I love it when everything falls into place like that.
  
• No low carb this week -- bagels, fries, and donuts, Oh My! I feel so fat... yet happy.
  
• Why does diversity training always make me feel guilty? It was good training, but felt condescending in some way. The one presenter was a cute cubby sort, so the eye candy was good.

LOL! Pitcher or Catcher? I'm not sure yet. I don't think I want to play infield as there is too much of a chance that I'd take balls to the face, and not in a good way (thank you, I'll be here all week..) :D

well... how could you go wrong with a game that involves long phallic instruments, balls, gloves and guys who spit. Not to mention the whole pitcher catcher thing. Who knew "America's Fave Game" is so gay gay gay :)

I have to admit, when I signed up for the team, I wondered if we'd have a team with drag queens on it. So far, most of the guys look pretty athlethic and no feather boas in sight.

nah... the nelly queens rarely do the softball league type of thing. Generally from what I've seen the guys on the teams are just regular every day guys... often hot as hell, but no feather boas to be seen (at least while they are in front of others ;)

The guys I've seen on the website pictures look pretty athletic to me. My team has a good winning record, so I'm eager to see how well I fit in with the team.

Computer Aided Inspections -- basically how to use different Microsoft Office applications to review, sort, and extract specific information from supplied caches of data.
