Painting the Bedroom

Selecting the right Behr
Finding the right color....

Maybe it's the Spring cleaning bug, but I have wanted to repaint my bedroom ... again. I've done this three times over the last five years, sadly the color just never turns out right. I'm hoping it will turn out better this time.

Following the suggestion of my handsome Canadian friend Jerry, I bought a quart of the suspect color today at Home Depot. I got home, cleaned out the bedroom of all furniture and painted the ceiling (it needed a new coat of white). I painted a 3 by 2 foot square of the new color, Harvest Brown (a Behr paint naturally), on the wall and let it dry. It's nearly the color of my carpet, which was unexpected, but I'm liking it. This time may be the one the works. I'll finish the whole room tomorrow after work.

The only negative is that my house is a wreck! It really irritates me, which is usually why I paint on weekends so the room can be put back together in the same day. I'll be sleeping in my spare room tonight and hopefully my bedroom (and my house) will be back to normal tomorrow night.

I'm really loving that color!

I can totally relate to painting and putting it back the next day. I can't stand the house being all over the place. When I did the downstairs it about killed me for a week until I could sit down and relax.

Ugh... the price of progress!

I'm beat! I just finished coat #1 and the color looks great, but I'm so tired...

Ugh is right...

Nice choice. I think what makes the colour work well in the image you posted is the contrast with the bright white trim/baseboards/moldings. Do you have the same opportunities in your room?

Woa. Uber-gay question.

LOL.. actually the trim and ceiling in my bedroom are white and I'm leaving them that way. I like the separation of colors... :)
