Infinite Crisis Artwork

Thank heavens I am off tomorrow. I was sick on Wednesday and worked from home today, so sleeping in tomorrow is going to be great ;)

(comic geek mode)

I did get the second issue of Infinite Crisis. I'm not giving away any spoilers, but I have to make some comment on the artwork. Normally, I love Phil Jimenez's work, but I'm having trouble with how he's drawing Power Girl. She looks like a blonde transvetite or drag queen with her broad manly shoulders, wide sagging boobs, and muscular legs. Don't get me wrong, she's supposed to be physically powerful, but she's also supposed to look like a woman with general female proportions.

Other than that, I'm loving it.

Yep...she is looking like Vera De Milo from "In Living Color" with big floppy breast implants.

You dont have to be Wonder Woman to wear a wonderbra...geez...

LOL.. true enough. I wonder why he's drawing her that way?

Maybe she's looking like a female bodybuilder.. ugh :o(

How is it going? is it becoming any better? I have heard several critiques about infinite crisis

Well, I've seen female bodybuilders before and they don't look like this. It also goes against how she's been drawn in the past.

As for how it is going, I'm not sure yet. I like the storyline thus far, but unclear how it is going to pan out. I guess I'll reserve judgment for now :)

I didn't even notice the Power Girl thing too much, probably because she's one of my least favorite characters and I don't look too closely at her. I did notice that her breasts were much more "restrained" than the usual good-girl art treatment we are subjected to with large watermelon-sized ones, I just chalked it up to Phil trying to de-objectify her a little.

I have loved every panel of it so far in general.

I was so happy to see Booster return with Skeets and I loved the whole "corrupted earth" theory for all the darkness we've seen lately. The return of Booster does make me wonder if it's the same Booster or a "new" Booster, since I didn't get the impression he was from the "current" Legion future like the original Booster.

Ah, not sure which Booster we're seeing there, but I look forward to seeing this storyline develop.

Every couple of yeasr they draw her that way. I'm not sure why. Her white bathing sometimes and somehow has leg holes that start at her ARMPITS! I mean DANG!

I did like seeing The original Huntress and I am intrigued by what they are proposing. Can it be done? SHOULD it be done?

And Donna is a much better Harbinger than Harbinger!

LOL.. I totally agree with her outfit. I personally wouldn't see Power Girl wearing something like that, she strikes me as being too feministic to dress that slutty.

I liked seeing the original Robin and Huntress too, I hated to see them killed off in the original Crisis. It makes me wonder if we'll see the Earth-2 Wonder Woman again?

True, true on the feministic outfit, but let's face it... The most major female hero wears a strapless bathingsuit to fight crime! In that context, Kara;s outfit is not that bad!

I was always a fan of Huntress. I would buy Wonder Woman just to see her backup story. They don't do that anymore. It would be nice to do that again. Have a main story and a second story not about the main character. So like Aquaman and Ambush Bug!

I hated to see Huntress, Robin and Kole die. Kara Zor-El's death was really the humdinger. It was heart wrenching. So many people died and each with such passion. Even the Crime Syndicate's deaths, and Lady Quark's and of course, The Flash.

*sigh* 1985 was heart-wrenching but necessary!
